My Paintings - Progressions

My first painting from my first class. Although we were encouraged to add more color to the flowers, it didn't want to mess with them. To me they look like premature dandelions, or the Hyrule Herb from the Legend of Zelda games on the Switch

This is the second piece I've worked on. It was the independent project we did in class after finishing the flowers and grass painting. It's intended to be a shot of Ollantaytambo in Peru, but I had to keep switching the angle. For now it's shelved, but I'll update this entry once it's finished.

This is my third painting and my second completed piece. It's not wholly what I envisioned, but I'm sincerely pleased with the results and what I learned while painting it. The texture of the sky- including the red-beige gradient and the palatte-knifework, as well as the illusion of perspective between the foreground and background is very pleasing. One day, I think I'll do it over again.

This is my third piece. It's fan-art of a character from the Guilty Gear series- particularly Guilty Gear: Strive. The character is named Paracelsus, although he was originally known as the Flament Nagel (Flaming Nail). Although he's shaped like a key during the games' events, he's actually a stone battleaxe that was cursed to give the wielder additional strength proportional to the bloodshed they caused with it. As happens in Japanese fiction, items can gain sapience after long periods of being exposed to intense emotions. As such, Paracelsus started to possess anyone wielding him into long benders of killing. It only went on so long because this was during The Crusades, a 100 year war that's only just ended a few years prior to the games. Later he was defeated by a vampire and left to mellow out in a field before being collected by an alchemist and later found by A.B.A, an unhinged homonculous that renamed him after her missing creator, and also now calls him her "husband."
